How the day counter counts
The days until a date are days of the calendar, not blocks of 24 hours: from Monday to Friday is four days, whatever the time is now. The count starts from today in your own time zone, so the number changes at your midnight, wherever you are, and the page counts again when you come back to it.
A date that has passed gives the days since it: since you started a habit, a new job or a streak without sugar. On the day itself the counter says so. Under the number you see the weekday of the date and the weeks the days make, which is easier to picture than 113 days.

What to count down to
A countdown to a date helps with anything that has a day: a holiday or a birthday, a trip, a wedding, a move, a concert or the first day of school. Give it a name, and the result reads like “42 days until Lisbon”.
It works for deadlines as well: a tax return, a report, the end of a lease or of a project. Students count the days until an exam; to fill those days with study blocks, there is the exam study planner, and for assignments with due dates, the homework planner.

Questions about counting days
Does it count calendar days or 24-hour days?
Calendar days. From today to tomorrow is one day at any hour, and the night the clocks change for summer time does not make a day shorter or longer in the count.
Which time zone does it use?
The time zone of your device. The number changes at your local midnight, so a friend in another country may see a different count for a few hours. A link carries the date and the name, not a time.
Can I count the days since a date?
Yes. Pick a date in the past, and the counter shows the days since it, with its weekday and the weeks, the same way it counts the days until a date.
Where are my dates saved?
In this browser, on this device: the ten dates you counted last, with their names. They are not sent anywhere and not part of a backup of your log. To take one off the list, press the × beside it.
Is the day counter free?
Yes. There is no account, no ads and nothing to install. It works in any modern browser, and offline too once you have opened it.
