01 Just the time

A timer with nothing but the time

Most timers fill the screen with settings, pictures and charts. This one shows the minutes and seconds, a thin line of the time left and, while you are not touching anything, nothing else. Move the mouse or press a key, and the lengths and buttons come back.

When the time is up, a soft bell rings and the countdown is saved, so even a minimal session still counts. For a countdown the whole room can read, open the fullscreen timer; for blocks with breaks, the Pomodoro study timer.

02 How to

How to use the minimalist timer

  1. Pick a length

Choose 10, 25 or 50 minutes, or anything from 1 minute to 10 hours under Custom.

  2. Press Start, or hit Space

  4. Hear the bell

03 FAQ

Questions about the minimalist timer

What is a minimalist timer?

A timer that shows only the time left: no ads, no pictures and no charts next to it. A calm screen is easy to glance at and easy to forget about until it rings.

Is the minimalist timer free?

Yes. It is free, with no account and no ads, and once you have opened it, it works offline too.

Can I turn off the bell?

Yes. The bell button above the time turns the sound off and on, and the settings let you pick a softer sound and set the volume.

Does it keep running in another tab?

Yes. It counts from the moment you press Start, so a background tab or a reload doesn’t change the time, and the bell still rings when the time is up.

Where do my sessions go?

Every finished countdown is saved to the study log on this device, where you can see your hours by day and by subject. Nothing is sent anywhere.
