A free 5 minute timer: press Start, and five minutes count down across the whole screen, with a bell at zero. It is the length of a short break between two tasks, a warm-up or a quick talk.
01 Five minutes
What fits in five minutes
Five minutes is short enough to start right away and long enough to change something. Stand up between two tasks, stretch, refill your water or close the tabs of the last job before the next one begins. When the bell rings, the pause is over, and you never had to watch the clock.
In the kitchen it is a soft-boiled egg or a pot of tea. Before a run it is a warm-up. In a class or a meeting it is a short talk or a quick quiz: the digits fill the screen, so the whole room sees how much is left.
02 Longer
When five minutes is not enough
Under the digits, 3 minutes is a breather, and 10 or 15 minutes a longer pause. For a whole small task, open the 10 minute timer; for one round of focused work, the 25 minute timer. To take turns between work and rest, the break timer starts every pause by itself.
03 How to
How to use the 5 minute timer
-
Press Start, or hit Space
The countdown starts at 5:00, and the title of the tab shows the time left.

-
Hear the bell
At zero a bell rings and the five minutes go to your log. Press Start for another round.
04 FAQ
Questions about the 5 minute timer
Will the bell ring if I switch tabs?
Yes. The countdown is tied to the clock, not to the tab: hide the tab and it keeps time, and the bell rings at zero. On a phone, keep the page open: the bell may come late, but the time stays right.
How do I make it full screen?
It already fills the page. For a TV or a talk, press F, and the bars of the browser go too; F again or Esc brings them back.
Can I change the length?
Yes. Tap 3, 10 or 15 minutes under the digits, or Custom for any length from 1 minute to 10 hours. The page opens at 5 minutes every time.
Can I pick another sound?
Yes: a desk bell, a wood block or a soft chime, with its volume, in the settings in the top corner. The bell button next to them turns the sound off.
Is the 5 minute timer free?
Yes. No account, no ads, nothing to install; after the first visit it opens even offline.
